About Me
Hey there! I’m Katya, an online English teacher who also happens to be a passionate traveler. Because I work remotely, I get to explore new places while still doing what I love. Travel has been a big part of my life for years. Even when I settle down for a few months, I always find time for short trips to nearby towns or cities. I enjoy discovering new cultures, meeting interesting people, and finding beauty in small everyday things.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I really enjoy Couchsurfing meetups and go to them whenever I visit a new city. Some of the people I’ve met during these gatherings have become good friends. I also had the chance to stay with a few hosts and was amazed by their kindness and hospitality.
What I love most is the exchange of stories and ideas that happens so naturally. It feels like you instantly have something in common with people you have never met before. Couchsurfing makes the world feel smaller in the best possible way.
Interests
Reading is a big part of my life. I always have a book in my bag or on my phone. I also enjoy watching TV series, especially those with interesting plots or characters I can relate to.
One of my favorite ways to relax is by playing Sims 4. I can spend hours building dream homes and designing families. From time to time, I also do Tarot readings for myself or close friends.
Going out with friends, talking about life, laughing for no reason, or just walking around a new neighborhood is what brings me joy. I consider myself outgoing and genuinely curious about people.
Music, Movies, and Books
Music:
I enjoy a wide mix, from folk and country to catchy pop songs. I’m always happy to hear music that means something special to you.
Movies:
My comfort movie is Anastasia. I also love What Happened in Vegas, Cruel Intentions, and Inception.
Books:
Harry Potter and The Hunger Games will always be close to my heart. I also enjoy biographies and have recently started reading early review copies of books before they are published. It feels like being part of a secret club.
TV series:
Some of my favorites are Dark, How to Get Away with Murder, You, and Bridgerton. I like a good mix of mystery and romance.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I once tried rope jumping from the top of an eleven-story building. The jump itself was incredible. The part where I got stuck in a tree while coming down? Not so much. But I still count it as one of the coolest things I’ve ever done.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love hearing people talk about their countries, their cultures, or just funny everyday moments. I am a talkative person, so I have plenty of stories to share as well.
Languages are one of my biggest interests. I would love to learn a few fun or useful words in your language, and I’d be happy to share something about Russian or English in return. Learning through real conversations is the best way.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I’m a friendly and respectful guest. I always try to be mindful of your time and space. If you feel like chatting, I’m happy to keep you company. If you need quiet, I completely understand.
Also, if you’re open to trying something sweet, I can make Russian pancakes for you. They are soft, golden, and usually disappear fast. No pressure though. I won’t bring flour into your kitchen unless you want me to.
