About Me

Ma il tempo e' la vita. La vita risiede nel cuore. E quanto piu' ne risparmiavano, tanto meno ne avevano.
- Michael Ende

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have mostly very positive CS experiences in Tokyo, Austria and Singapore. My first CS host was a couple in Graz, and they were very hospitable people. In Innsbruck, my host shared his adventure in Japan with me and he even invited me to his friend's farewell party. All of them are very open minded to Japanese people, which I really appreciated.

While I was living in Tokyo, I used to local CS weekly meetings ike I did during my time outside of Japan. Different cities have different taste of CS meetings, which is an interesting thing to discover.

I never hosted anybody yet, but I would love to try if I get a chance to do so :)

Disclaimer: A Singaporean guy sent me a negative reference. Let me explain why it is like that. (This is not a fun part so feel free to skip if you want to read positive stuff)

This person and I only had communicated with Facebook messaging before he made a "problem." We started exchanging travel tips on each other's country but as the time goes by, he started bothering me with sending unsolicited messages to me. Whenever I am on Facebook, he went on to message me. I never told him he could contact me anytime. That was annoying and I ended up ignoring his messages.

One day I was being interviewed on Facebook and he gave me a video call without any notice. My interview was messed up. And my interviewer also got angry at it (yeah that's totally understandable, if you are a recruiter, who could keep calm if your candidates suddenly ring up their phones during the interview?).

Before this accident happened, I told him not to send me unsolicited calls/messages. And I told him not to video call me on FB as my internet has poor connection. But obviously he didn't remember that part/listen to me. People are doing their jobs on Facebook too, so being active does not mean being available to chat this and that anytime! As he is a retired man, he seemed to think that everybody around him is also free man that is available to talk at all times. But that is not always the case right? Everybody has their own plans! That is why we ended up writing about negative reference to each other.

If you need clarifications on this matter, please message me.

It was very unfortunate to see that kind of people with zero respect to people's life on CS, but as other couchsurfers say, there are much nicer people out there! That's why I am still active on Couchsurfing.

Interests

Mindfulness, Yoga, Meditation, reading books and language exchange

Music, Movies, and Books

Lady GaGa, Rita Ora, Dua Lipa. I do listen to different music from different musicians in different countries.

As a part of my language learning, I am reading world best sellers in the language I am studying. I have been reading Hally Potter in Italian. Want to do so in my other target languages as well as their levels progress.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Exchange at a Singapore university was the best experience I've ever enjoyed.

Currently learning multiple languages at the same time. My passion for languages has built up not only language skills but also awesome connections with people and society which my target languages have been built upon.

I am also practicing dragon boating in Singapore and have been with the dragon boat team for about half a year! I am not a fitness person or any sort and it took a while for me to be fully able to participate in the sport, but dragon boat sport has been one of the things I've always wanted to try my hand on for a long time so this was my dreams come true. Joining my team was one of the best decisions I had ever made. Along the way, I got to know so many amazing dragon boat team mates and coaches which I also deeply appreciate.

Teach, Learn, Share

If you are keen on it, language exchange between German-Japanese is great way to meet up. Exchange between Italian-Japanese is also possible.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Hoping that my interest will match the one the hosts have... I'm keen on language exchanges (leaning: French, Italian and German. Offer: Japanese), and vegetarianism. Maybe a bit of Japanese food if they want.
