ABOUT ME

I'm Kayla nine months old to Norway, and a 25 yr old American from Washington State. I moved in search of travel and life experiences. And I've fallen in love with these crazy children I care for.. there are four of them, eight and under.

So while juggling the experience of being a full time mother, (literally - the baby calls me 'mama') I'm trying to take some time off to see the world that rests in my fingertips. As well as to enjoy being young and free. I will best be doing this during a two month long backpacking trip in September and October of 2012.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Currently just traveling in Europe, but would love to see the rest of the world AND join the network of hosts when I return to the states.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couch surfed once in Northern Norway and just fell in love with the idea. You have to be fairly trusting and bold to do something like this. But I find this network of people to be like one big family, all with big hearts and open arms.

So, I've done quite a bit of European travel in my time here, but am still fairly new to couch surfing. I hope to change that this fall. You DEFINITELY want to host me.. a fun, adventurous new friend and a respectful house guest.

Being outdoors, sharing time with people, travel, FOOD, laughing out loud, music and art, singing and dancing like no one is watching, learning from kids, basking in sunshine, playing in the rain, reading and writing, living every day to the fullest! Life is a gift.

TV - I don't watch a ton (it's too addicting) but love HIMYM and Parks and Rec. genres. Planet Earth.

Traveled almost all 50 US states.
Took the au pair plunge, for a large family with a tiny home in a small country.
Had the chicken pox twice.
Interviewed a 100-year-old gardener and a Khmer Rouge freedom fighter/survivor.
Surfed a couch.
Got a personal ride home from the Italian bus driver, of the wrong bus.
A down-right msadventure, I am.
