About Me

Aloha!

We are a family of three living up a mountain on the Kona side. Our house is off grid, our son is 4 years old. He goes to preschool so we go to bed early-ish.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet friends from around the world, offer a place to stay, and hopefully make some friends to visit when we travel.

Music, Movies, and Books

i recommend these bound treasures:
--The Mastery of Love (Don Miguel Ruiz)
--Ordinary Women Extraordinary Wisdom (Rita Robinson)
--Fourth Uncle in the Mountain: A Memoir of a Barefoot Doctor in Vietnam (Marjorie Pivar and Quang Van Nguyen)
--Way of the Peaceful Warrior (Dan Millman)
--Theft of the Spirit: A Journey to Spiritual Healing (Carl Hammerschlag)
--The Power of One (Bryce Courtenay)
--The Witch of Portobello (Paulo Coelho)
--The Celestine Prophecy (James Redfield)

and for the mamas & papas to be out there:
--anything by Janet Lansbury
--Home Grown (it's an account of one family's adventures in unschooling)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent a month in Peru at an Ayahuasca retreat center, healing wounds I didn't even know existed. Connecting with the spirit of Aya is one of the most incredible and transformative experiences I've had the pleasure to live thus far.

A few other delights...

-hiking in the PacNW!! it's where I grew up and it still takes my breathe away.

-Working in the snowboard shop at Stevens Pass for a few winter seasons

-Studying in monasteries throughout Thailand

-Living in a van while discovering New Zealand

Teach, Learn, Share

Good conversation, good food and hopefully some laughs

If you are a master of any of the following, we invite your presence and loving instruction: gardening, permaculture design, drumming, guitar playing, wood flute-ing, Spanish speaking. Or if you're awesome- we like awesome;)

Countries I’ve Visited

Aruba, Cambodia, Canada, Laos, Mexico, Myanmar, New Zealand, Peru, Thailand, Venezuela
