About Me

I usually travel solo and I love finding adventure when I travel. Nevertheless, I'm quite shy; if I'm a little quiet at first, please don't think I'm angry or rude! I love hiking/trekking, scuba diving, riding my bicycle, indoor rock climbing, and lifting weights to stay healthy. Eating is one of my favorite things to do, I am always happy when there is food around. I also love documenting and sharing my experiences around the world with my friends and family on social media, so I take lots of pictures. When I'm home in the U.S. I spend most of my time working as a police dispatcher - basically I answer emergency calls and tell the police officers where to go to help people. I'm passionate about my job and would be happy to share interesting stories if you'd like. Sometimes I'll stay out late exploring a new city but generally I don't go partying, so I'm usually home and quiet at a reasonable hour.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to meet local people when I travel and learn more about local cultures, instead of being surrounded by fellow tourists in hostels. I want to learn new things that I would not know if I didn't stay with someone from another country.

Interests

I'm an avid hiker and love to see new places. I'm also scuba certified and like to soak up sun on the beach. I speak English and Spanish. I lift weights and rock climb indoors to stay healthy, because I love to eat. I'm vegetarian at home but will eat anything while traveling. I am always thinking about food!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent 2 days climbing Mt. Rinjani in Indonesia, 3,726 meters high (12,224 feet for us Americans)! I've climbed a few peaks at home in California as well, but none as tall nor difficult as Rinjani. It's not very amazing but I'm still very proud of it, it was a big accomplishment/goal for me.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach some Spanish.
I can cook a few American, Mexican, and Korean dishes.
I am thrilled to learn anything new! I'd love to learn about local traditions, customs, recipes, etc!
I can share any information/stories about my home in California or my work, so ask me anything!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm happy to share any stories or experiences that I have.
I can also bring small trinkets from home - I live in Anaheim, California, very close to Disneyland and not very far from Los Angeles and Hollywood. I can bring postcards, pictures, keychains or magnets, local dry foods/sauces in small bottles, books, clothes, anything my host would like from the USA! I love my home and I love to share it with others.
I'm also pretty good at doing makeup and nails if that's your thing.
