About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I like putting myself outside of my comfort zone and pushing myself to try new things.
I want to experience other cultures and ways of life, and meet the people that each beautifully different culture produces!
ABOUT ME
I am laid back and always looking for a new adventure!
I went to school for Culinary Arts down in San Diego, California. After graduating, I went on to join AmeriCorps, which is similar in concept to a domestic Peace Corps. While in the program, I did a lot of flood relief work following a pretty bad flood in Colorado, and also worked with children in New Mexico.
After graduating the program, I packed up what little belongings I had on me and embarked on a five-month long backpacking trip around Europe. The experience was unforgettable, at times uncomfortable, and absolutely priceless.
I have since moved back to my hometown of Monterey, CA and work in a newly established winery in Carmel Valley, learning everything I can absorb about the winemaking process. When time and finances afford, though, I do plan to dabble back into my travel-mode, though I doubt I will have another opportunity where all stars align and I can just be blown around on the wind :) but a girl can dream.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I prefer Couchsurfing to hotels or hostels for portions of my travel because there is such an intimate, personal aspect to being invited into someones home and shown around by those that really know the heart of a place. You can't find that in a Marriott.
Interests
I enjoy hiking and being outdoors. Some of my passions include music, food, and trying new beers and wine :)
I love meeting new people and really finding out what drives them.
