I love teaching and put everything I have into my passion. My parents were educators and I guess the gene didn't skip me! I also love to travel (obviously), but am a little different in that most of my travels have been solo for long periods of time. You could say I enjoy my own company.

I would like to host people because I proud of my home state and my city. NC has some amazing things to offer and Greensboro is growing right before my eyes. Once kind of a pass through sort of town, we now are host to breweries, independent restaurants, music, and the arts.

Intereses

I love craft beer, good music, and reading non-fiction. I have two cats who are my best buds and we love lounging around, checking out new music venues and Netflix documentaries from the comforts of the couch or screened in porch. I also love education and investigating ways to better myself and my classroom.

Música, películas y libros

Everyone always says, "I like everything" when it comes to music, but I'm not a cop out. I like most everything but pop country (classic country is divine, however!) but my top favorite artists of all time are TOOL, Stone Temple Pilots, Ice Cube, Snoop Dog, and Dave Matthews. But I also grew up on classic rock and soul so Bill Withers, Otis Redding, Van Morrison, and the like will always hold a special place in my heart. I enjoy a good beat, so I am really enjoying contemporary rap right now, regardless of its violent tendencies and misogynistic attitude. Anything from the 90s wins with me and reminds me of getting ready for school when MTV actually played music. In regards to movies, like my reads, I enjoy non fiction but I do enjoy the Friday trilogy, The Wackness, Outside Providence, and Little Children, I also enjoy horror (creepy not gory) but have found the older I get, the more easily I scare! Books, for a literature major, are tough but Anything by Jacqueline Sussan or Tom Perrotta work for me in the fiction category.

I danced my way backstage and met Ice Cube in my favorite NC city/second home, Asheville, got on his tour bus, and was complimented when I amazed him by pulling out a anniversary edition of NWA's Straight Outta Compton vinyl for him to autograph.
