About Me
I'm 23 years old and will be starting grad school in August for public health nutrition! I studied German in undergrad and somehow found my way into nutrition after living in Europe for 2 years and becoming fascinated with how much healthier Germany seems to be in many respects (kudos to y'all, seriously). I love meeting people and sharing stories, embracing discomfort while trying new things, and staying active.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I feel like I wasted a lot of my time living in Germany and Austria by falling too quickly into the routine of every day life and simply not doing enough. I’m excited to experience new pieces of Berlin (and Germany in general), hopefully alongside some new friends! :)

Music, Movies, and Books
I wrote my bachelor's thesis on German rap (and later taught English in Austria, where my students laughed at my taste in music!) Also, it's a dream of mine to see Bob Dylan in concert.
I read way too much for my own good— lots of memoirs lately about WWII and running. Trying to keep up with my German, so any suggestions you might have auf Deutsch are highly appreciated :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I lived in Austria, I took a trip to visit four countries in one day— breakfast in Austria, lunch in Liechtenstein, a long afternoon walk in Switzerland, and dinner in Germany. Coming from a state that can quite literally take 12 hours just to drive across (we love Texas despite it!!), that was pretty cool.
This summer, I'm running across the United States from coast to coast (Baltimore to San Francisco) in support of young adults with cancer— can't check it off my list just yet, but that’ll definitely make it to my first place!
Teach, Learn, Share
I taught English for a year and have been learning German for five. Aside from languages, I can teach you about the joys of good old-fashioned Southern hospitality and the right way to make tex-mex, and I'd love to share stories over a run or beer!
