About Me
"Best friends are like stars that light up our darkest nights. Your presence illuminates my life, and I'm forever grateful for you."
Firstly , thank you so much of your time to read my profile. My philosophy is to forge acquaintance into a lasting friendship. My profile is long because I want you to understand who you are writing to. I am happy that you have chosen to visit Singapore. Well, I am the CS Ambassador of Singapore. I am a professional who is always curious on humanity and like to make new friends from all over the world. Thank you for choosing to visit Singapore - a Sunny tropical city state country. Well, you have made the right choice ! I love nature, animals and museums and engaged interactions with people from different walks of life. I love to seek friends that love good food tasting and enjoy good company together. I love to travel and find out more about the country, I do ask many questions, it doesn't matter if you hv all the answers. I am a lawyer and I come from a family of lawyers. I love to make friends with people from other professions and different nationalities . The world is always so fascinating with so many imperfections ! Yes! It's so unique ! Political upheaval , social problems , income gap disparity and many other factors that challenge the humanity . We can talk, ponder, discuss and debate ! I love to learn from interesting people as I always think they could offer some food for thoughts ! They can challenge me and push me to think deeper and critical on issues that few could matter !
My long list of accolades of CS references speak of my hospitality and personality. I am a very direct person and I will not be intimidated by people who are trying to take advantage of my generous hospitality. If you are trying to seek free accomodations and have no desire to spend time with the host meaningfully, please look for other hosts. I am a very experienced host who knows the needs of a traveller. Of course you can have your free time but please communicate clearly before your arrival to avoid any misunderstandings. I am very strict on my house rules. Please read up my house rules under Home section. I will not hesitate to ask you to leave my house immediately if you are disrespectful and do not follow my house rules. These are simple rules if you treat my house as your house, showing your respect. These rules are not difficult to follow. Sometimes, some surfers only show what is advantageous to be perceived from them, portraying themselves to be the victims in fact these people who often break the house rules despite numerous warnings and disrespectful to the host when they were so busy messaging their frds or tinder dates when they were with their host, lacking basic mannerism, shamefully selfish acts. I hope you are not one of them. Some were so unhappy when I told them they cannot be back after midnight as I need to wake up early and go to work. Some of them whom I have to remind them to be neat and tidy and not to mess up my place by throwing their stuff all over my room. Some even tried to bring strangers to my place and caught by me. Of course, they faced the dired consequences. The list will go on.... Of course, these black sheeps only constituted a minority group of people whom I have hosted. There are many beautiful and lovely people whom I have hosted too. Some even become my best friends.
Being a host, i always try my best to be a good host and be an ambassador of Singapore . I can bring you most of the touristic and non-touristic places in Sg and enjoy good local delicious cuisines as I drive . I set high standards for my hosting and meeting new friends to hangout. Even if I cannot host you due to work and other commitments , if time permits, we can still arrange to hangout as I promise you won't get a discounted experience here. Many of the people I met said it was the best Couchsurfing experience they have had. I still couldnt believe when I met up an introvert CS and after several days of hosting, we have built up the friendship, isnt it amazing? I have organised CS events in the past like Chinese New Year and Christmas parties and yatch cruise to Singapore islands and invited my friends and travellers to engage in these activities. I have also organised karaoke sessions with my friends and travellers. In short, I would give you a deeper perspective of Singapore if you are interested to find out more . If we did not meet that means it's fated. It doesn't matter as we leave it to destiny . We may cross path in this beautiful planet one day ! Life is short, seize the day! I hv hosted more than 400 CS frds just happened some of them wrote under 'Personal' , and not surfers. I do invite my CS friends for musical plays , concerts and other events in Sg. You will be spoilt with choices . I used to live in Vancouver as I have made many frds there too.As times when I couldn't host my friends but we managed to hangout , I was amazed that the references they wrote for me were even better than their comments for their hosts . If time permits, I do organise CS events where I invite foreigners to join to visit mostly non-touristic places , where even the locals hardly go , as some places you need to have a car to reach and no public transport could send you there. Like seeing big Monitor lizards, wild crocodiles , bats and monkeys etc and other interesting places that challenge your perspectives Of course , I do bring my friends to the TOP bars in Singapore , all rooftop bars , bars in 5 stars hotels and bars in Clark Quay , Haji Lane , Boat Quay , Dempsey Hill, CHIJMES, Atlas Bar etc
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I want to use CS to introduce my beautiful country to others and enrich their understandings on our cultures, social issues and people . Singapore is small but in many ways we are blessed with the greenery , safe and high standard of living here. Life is cosy and comfortable here . You will be enriched during your stay here Most CS friends I encountered are Budget travellers . Well , I am heartened that 100% of them would feel great and appreciate those things I offered and they were delighted with the places and food I have brought them to experience and taste . In short, My CS concept is above the rest . I always give my best to the people I host and the people I meet. I always feel that to be in a foreign land , one may have some anxieties and I will try to help you , within my scope . It's not easy for the acquaintance to forge and build and I cherish the times we have for our interactions, and conversations . I always take this opportunity to make friends and my CS references speak for them. The greatest thing I get from CS are some people whom I met become my good friends and still communicate with each other even today and went travelling together ! We still chat about our personal lives . Isn't it unbelievable and awesome ? People always walk around Chinatown, do they walk and understand the history of the origins and know about the different clan associations? People walk around Orchard Road, do they know where's the original Orchard food street market in the olden day's and the types of plantation they used to have? People walk around Marina Bay Sands, do they know they were built on reclaimed land and it's story? You don't just visit such landmarks, you will get a deeper understanding and insights of them.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Went to India and China and its really enriching experience for me. Incredible India really fanscinating! The world is intriguing evolving and so much things we have yet to explore .
Life isn't the pursuit of material success . I hv been to many countries but usually I will arrange a private guide and stay in hotels . I guess one day I shall try the CS way . Hosting 2 separating groups of friends at different places .
Arranging my trip to Italy with my friends from Europe. We drove from the south to the north of Italy and visited many interesting places . We also tasted many nice Italian food at different restaurants . Fully immersed in the Italian cultures .
I firmly believe that sincerity is the key to build a friendship . Only time will tell. The best gift is the close friendship that I have received from my friends from the other continents of the world. Imagine receiving video call from other parts of the world , singing happy birthday songs and other little things they have done to move your heart, I am deeply blessed.
Wow! If you have finished reading all my profile , I sincerely have to thank you again. I hope you enjoy reading it and wish you to having a great time in Singapore soon. We may or may not meet but it's the spirit we uphold for humanity !
Teach, Learn, Share
Before I start , I will read most of your references to paint a little picture of you. Of course, there are people with no references , I do consider them too. Sometimes taking risks isn't a bad thing after all. Frank exchange of opinions and appreciate life to the fullest. I do cross read the references . If you have hosted/hangout with/by someone but you chose not to write references for them, then I could see that you are simply just making use of people or simply dislike the person(which one?). This is because within the CS community, it is a basic courtesy to write for each other for the experience that is composed with a giver and receiver . It is not a place to seek free accomodations to achieve your own personal gains. (sounds harsh but its a reality) We all learn from each other. Life is beautiful with all the imperfections entail for us. In realty there are always some misunderstandings among people but it's good to forgive and forget Well, body gestures will never betray you. So far I only did once , I even wrote a positive reference on him . There are so many people with different stories, I learn each time too. It will never be dull, on the contrary , it adds spices to the life we endorse. I do not like people who merely text the hosts for accommodation and do not have the desire to learn the cultures and understand more about the country. I do not respect people who are obsessive in using their phone to text and play when the host is trying to introduce his country to the couchsurfers. I am more like an ambassador than a surfer . I will not entertain anybody who don't even address the host's name in his/her request as it's very impolite. Some surfers must learn some etiquette lessons .
I can teach you some basic Mandarin , Cantonese and Singlish if you are more inclined into languages . Introduce Singapore and it's colourful cultures and good food.
You will get a deeper perspective of Singapore through engaged conversations and debates, discussions , if any .
What I Can Share with Hosts
Nice local or international food , vegetarian and vegan food and Cantonese cuisine that you will reminisce fondly and interesting places that tourists will never know . Singapore is a melting pot of numerous cultures and nationalities . Of coz, I will bring you to all the famous landmarks in Singapore , as easy as ABC.
I always try to maximize the time so you can visit more places than the rest , given limited time here . Well , my record was showing my European frds 15 hours in a day exploring Singapore . It was very tiring but everyone was enjoying and it was great fun. Refer to those references written by them under Personal section.
An authentic experience and understand deeper perspectives on Singapore is what you get here , you need to get from a local, not just foreigners that work here . My friends always said I can be a guide when I retire .
You will have good immersion with introduction of those places that you will reminisce fondly and many surprises too.
