ABOUT ME

I like to climb (rock, ice, and mountain) on my days off . Otherwise, I’m a full time student in a data science program. I drool when I laugh genuinely. The day I stop being amused by potty humor is the day I die. I enjoy normality with an exception of one or two things very out of place... I look up at the sky a lot.

rocking climbing, ice climbing, alpine frolicks, backpacking, mountain & road biking, roller-blading to work, snowboarding, snowshoeing, yoga, beer league hockey. Being outdoors and enjoying it as much is as humanly possible. Self professed hot springs whore. Ted Talk binges. Having a good meal with good wine, good company, and great conversation. Concerts that I can do the robot to. I will take any excuse to make and wear a costume.

Musik, Filme und Bücher

Music... I have learned to make no generalizations because every bias has been torn down when given a proper chance. Guilty pleasure still and always will be Chumbawumba.

Books... Thoreau, Fitzgerald, Ayn Rand, Harry POOOOTTER, books about the universe... I have a few classics in my car, but actually looking for recommendations on my travels.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

One of my most amazing memories is hiking to the top of a mountain in the middle of nowhere at 4 am in the morning. There was no moon out that night so it was absolutely pitch black and as I sat on top of this mountain I felt like I was in a dark enclosed room. Then little by little the colors starting changing and the entire world was unfolded in front of me. Mountain ranges popped out of no where in the pink and orange haze of the sunrise. To go from complete darkness, and then witness every single color changing and lighting up the world, it's the kind of beauty that could you make you cry.

This is what it is all about. Learning not from text books or teachers or news channels, but from people.

I wish I could have been a natural academic, but no matter how I try I can never shake the feeling that my knowledge isn't tied up in the carefully written book before me, but rather in the people and the life surrounding me.
