About Me

spread multiculturalism! End intersectional violence.

It goes without saying that I enjoy traveling more than anything else in the world. Beyond that, cycling. My bikes (Smooth Criminal and Guabae) are my babies. I'm a natural-born journalist and love both hearing peoples' stories and sharing my own. I'm a firm social justice advocate and will jump on any opportunity to engage others in that way.

everything in moderation, be here now, ride bikes

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I hope to meet as many couch surfers as possible, and I've already met some awesome ones in Tobago, Cartagena, Toronto, and Italy...all unforgettable experiences. While my living situation isn't ideal for hosting right now, it will be come September!

Started CS experience in Tobago and it's been a wonderful journey since then.

Music, Movies, and Books

Slight obsession with Toni Morrison. She has a crazy and frightening ability to humanize people who we tend to demonize in order to remove ourselves from them as much as possible. I almost never watch movies alone, just a thing I like to do with others. Music, anything goes, though I didn't anticipate my love for soca and dancehall would continue this long after living in the Caribbean. Always trying to expand my collection, though. Latin dancing and its music is awesome.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Taj Mahal, Japanese toilets, people, people people. For me traveling is almost ALWAYS made by the people whom you encounter, not the sites seen. Also the food eaten. Most recently hiked to the top of mount Roraima, Venezuela. I imagine the moon looks something like what we found up there.

Teach, Learn, Share

I think it's better to teach in person than over the internet. love to teach people new recipes and vice versa.

Countries I’ve Visited

Aruba, Colombia, Costa Rica, Croatia, Ghana, Guadeloupe, Haiti, Honduras, India, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Nicaragua, Panama, Venezuela, Virgin Islands, British, Virgin Islands, U.S.

Countries I’ve Lived In

Canada, Haiti, Trinidad and Tobago, United States
