About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Connect queer & trans-positive folks & spaces, aimed at building community, always aware and reflective of historical and social location, and be in a constant state of learning and unlearning.
ABOUT ME
Well-caffeinated, small-town raised, queer, feminist, book-collector, and reflective adventurer.
Grew up in a small tourist town called Thornbury, Ontario. I have spent many years focused on disability justice work and service provision. While I was taking a step back from political organizing and service provision to explore the world and to better understand its complex histories of power and privilege, this is no longer the case. I currently work four (4) paid jobs and am involved in multiple activist-focused organizations. When not working, I can commonly be found with my brother at the movies, mind-mapping my over-active imagination, spending time outside, and critically theorizing about pop culture.
I have a phobia of rodents, as well as a few other accessibility needs related to chronic pain, mental health, and neuro-diversity.
PHILOSOPHY
History is in every moment. One's relationship with the Earth is one of reciprocity.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm currently traveling across the north U.S. in my car (after driving westward across Canada). I am almost at the end of my journey and staying in cities for a night or so at a time.
When hosting, I'm based in St. Catharines, ON, with the occasional adventure. My brother and I are roommates (and I am his full-time caregiver), and are able to act as hosts in the Niagara region.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Thus far my experience has been with CouchSurfing has been with couchsurfers in Ottawa. It has been such a great opportunity to be able to interact with folks living this experience, and I look forward to the opportunity to meet hosts abroad and learn from those experiences.
Interests
Coffee, social justice, books, hiking, writing, waterfalls, welding, bike riding, pop culture, ice hockey, researching, travelling, sunsets, chatting over beers, and so much more. I spend a lot of time emerged in self-education around different anti-oppression and community accountability topics.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music - I enjoy everything from John Cage to Dolly Parton to Imagine Dragons to Jefferson Airplane. Despite being a good dance jam, I hate the song 'Blurred Lines' and all other songs that promote violence and non-consensual encounters.
Movies - I love movies and TV(exception of horror films and films/ tv that purposely use people identities and intelligence to mock them)! Currently really in to TV shows Orphan Black, Lost Girl, and Orange is the New Black, with classic favourites of Friends, Sailor Moon and Firefly!
Books - I am a classic 'To be read' person, constantly collecting more and more used books, zines, audiobooks, articles, etc. and rarely making dents in the pile.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of the most amazing things I have seen was the night sky completely covered in stars while staying in at the Rossport Solidarity Camp in County Mayo, Ireland. Coming from rural Canada, I thought I understood the strength and power of the night sky, but this night sky completely challenged anything I had even imagined about the stars before. A powerfulness not camera could capture
Teach, Learn, Share
In my time in Ottawa, I was privileged enough to be in spaces where workshop facilitation became one of my passions. While constantly learning and evolving my content, workshop I have taught include challenging ableism in attitudes and language, incorporating anti-oppression into organizing, consensus decision making, and how to facilitate workshops.
