ABOUT ME

I'm a native Californian who has spent the last 6 years in Seattle, WA. I make my living as a property manager for a small vintage building next to The Space Needle. When I'm not working, I like to practice martial arts, particularly Jujutsu and Judo. I also enjoy swimming, jogging along the water, and making homemade pasta sauce and fresh sourdough bread.

I drive a 1967 Volvo and keep a 1963 Porsche 356B as a weekend car. Vintage cars make me feel more connected to the past, and also remind me of my father, who, while I was growing up, always seemed to have a VW in varying states of repair in our garage.

Food is my largest motivator. As such, I plan my trips meal by meal, dish by dish. I'm a master of routine, but like to break my tendency for repetition while I travel through new and unfamiliar cuisines, people, and cultural celebrations.

I also enjoy saunas, live theatre, movies of all kinds, drinks of all variety, writing, laughter, history, debate, and a warm shower with a clean towel.

A couple of years ago I wrote an essay that got published in the city paper. It was on the cover and strewn all across town. Everywhere I went I say my name and words in the newspaper bins. It was the first time I knew what I was meant to be doing.
