About Me

I am a student currently in my first year studying biomedical engineering as a PhD student.

I was born and raised near Chicago, but I ended up going to school in the upper peninsula of Michigan for undergrad, and virginia for grad school.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like to travel and meet new people, and I think this is the best way to do it.

Interests

I am a huge fan of road trips, and when I have the time, I like to camp every step along the way. I like most sports, and pretty much everything outdoors like hiking, biking, skiing, kayaking, bushcraft, and climbing. I also enjoy reading everything from classic novels to academic journals.

I've done road trips all over the US, but I can't exactly drive across the oceans, so at some point I want to fly to all the other continents.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to an odd assortment of music: lots of rock and metal, but also a lot of edm like house and electro-swing, and then a few random rap artists, too.

As for movies, I like everything from big budget action movies, to foreign b-horror movies. Pretty much if its on netflix, I'll give it a try.

When it comes to books, the list is too long. I am a huge Tolkien fan, and I read a lot of classics like Crime and Punishment or the Count of Monte Cristo. I also like more modern books by authors like Tom Clancy or Stephen King.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I drove to every state besides Alaska and Hawaii before ever setting foot on an airplane. I still need to get those two states knocked out, though.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach biology, math, and physics as well as a bunch of outdoor skills. Teaching people who want to learn is one of my favorite things to do.

I would like to learn pretty much anything. I don't think there is a person alive who couldn't teach me something useful.
