I'm 23 years old from Seattle, US. I just completed my masters degree at the University of Washington in engineering while working in the aerospace industry. I'm still trying to decide if the classic career life is the life for me, so I have decided to postpone a career and travel the world while I am still young. My first stop is in Singapore for a week, then a month in Nepal to trek the Annapurna Circuit and go on a rafting trip. My plan after is to fly to Thailand to get my scuba diving certificate then travel around SE Asia to Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam, however I have not bought a plane ticket out of Nepal yet, so I'm leaving things very open ended.

I consider myself a very respectful, social, and easy going individual. I do not have much experience traveling except for 3 weeks in Europe, so I am really looking forward to learning about the Singapore lifestyle. I would jump on any opportunity to explore the city with any host, however I do realize I am requesting a stay during the week and people work, therefore I am very happy to do my own thing in the city, as I will be traveling alone this whole trip.

Staying with a local is the best way to learn about the city/culture and to make friends around the world. On this trip I'm hoping to do a healthy mix of staying in hostels to meet fellow travelers, and couch surfing to meet locals
