CURRENT MISSION

My main goal is to travel as much as possible for me! To achieve this, I'm taking trips when my time and money allows.

ABOUT ME

I have studied abroad in Salamanca, Spain (2 months) and interned abroad in Hannover, Germany (2 months). I have also visited England (I have relatives there), Nicaragua (on a school service trip), Paris (weekend trip while in Spain), Rome (weekend trip while in Germany), and Lisbon (weekend trip while in Spain). I've also done a lot of traveling in the United States with my family.

I'm currently a computer Engineering Master's student at the University of Arizona. During Undergrad, I was editor-in-chief of my school's newspaper, and I also worked in the physics department. Currently, I am a volunteer search and rescuer for the wilderness areas around Tucson, AZ. I have two cats, and they are both wonderful!

I'm a peskatarian, which means I'm essentially a vegetarian except I eat fish and other sea food.

My boyfriend, David, is a Ph.D. student in the computer engineering department, studying computational neuroscience. He has been to Israel twice and Hawaii a few times. He's only recently (within the past two years) gotten into hiking and backpacking, and has been to visit several US National Parks with my family. He is a search and rescue volunteer, too.

PHILOSOPHY

I love learning -- learning about others/other cultures, math, physics, computers, reading, languages, discussions!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm just looking to be a surfer, now. But someday, when I have a more room in my house, I hope to host.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I set up an account during my Undergrad, but my boyfriend at the time and I ended up not using it. I'm just looking to get into it!

Intereses

My interests include photography, arts and crafts (especially scrap-booking and crocheting), Spanish, traveling (of course!), writing, and hiking/backpacking.

Daniel enjoys playing Super Smash Brothers Melee, hiking/backpacking, and spending time outdoors.

Música, películas y libros

I'm not a huge music fan, but I do like Billy Joel and Bruce Springsteen.
I'm also not a big movie watcher, but if I had to choose some favorites, they would probably be Field of Dreams, October Skies, the LOTR series, and HP (although the books far outweigh the movies).

I do love to read. My favorite author is Ellen Hopkins. I have enjoyed all of her books. Some of my favorite books include Hyperion, LOTR, HP (I've read these two times each, and I'm working on a third), Inkheart/Inkspell/Inkdeath, and the Inheritance Cycle (Eragon, etc.)

I'm learning Spanish.

I also can crochet and enjoy cooking. So, I'm always willing to teach those things! I'm decently into photography. I know a bit about that, and could teach some things to a beginner. I also know a lot about hiking and spending time in the wilderness.
