ABOUT ME

I'm a farm boy from the Netherlands from the place which used to be sea. I guess growing up outside put me on the path to studying archaeology where there is a lot of fieldwork. Right now I am doing a master in paleobotany which is a mixture of archeology and biology. Which suits me fine :)
I live in Groningen which is a cosy city in the north of the Netherlands. I studied and worked in Groningen for a long time now. Working in movie stores and later in archeology. So I consider it my second home.
There are a few sights to be seen like the Museum which usually has spectacular expositions, and the town centre itself. The best sight are the lands around the city though, especially the estates and the sea. During the summer, when the tide is low, it is possible to walk over the seabed to the islands from the mainland!
Besides walking the seabed I cycle a lot to see the surroundings. When there is ice I skate. And on a trip to the Czech Republic i got hooked on rockclimbing.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Together with my girlfriend we have hosted several people. These were mostly visitors for festivals, eurosonic (music) and noorderlicht (photo). We also had some weekendtrippers over.
