Hello Couchsurfing world!

I'm Kerven, a 21-year-old backpacker from Quebec who got into long-term solo travel over the past year. Since everybody tends to mispronounce my name, you can call me by my nickname Kef. I’m eager more than ever to connect with locals from different cultures and discover new cities and countries. I'm fascinated by passionate people even though I don't share the passion, since I'm here to learn new skills.

I had the chance to travel when I was young. I've been six times to Cuba with my family. Then came the pandemic and a few (too many!) years without any travel. Then the desire of travel came back with an overnight trip to Montreal on January 2024. No long after I solo-backpacked in Australia and Indonesia for two months during Summer 2024.

A 3-week solo backpacking trip in Colombia during New Year holidays confirmed that it is what I want to do in my life. It is now time to start my third solo backpacking. I can't wait to meet you guys along my next solo adventure!

I'm a huge fan of Bob Dylan for a year now. I went at his show last summer. Otherwise it depends of the mood. I jump between a lot of styles and eras. Now I'm into Leonard Cohen, Nirvana and Olivia Rodrigo. I also listen to a bunch of old (80's) French songs.

I'm not into mainstream movies that much. I prefer B series movies and documentaries. But if I have to chose a movie that I really loved, I would say Apollo 13.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Spending 3+ months in Hong Kong after losing my passport.

Learning how to play and sing 100+ songs over the past three years by unknowingly using spaced repetition system which seems to be one the most efficient ways to learn new things. I'm working on "Desolation Row", a 11 minutes song.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm interest to share meal, to do jam sessions if you play music. Have a lot of knowledge on aviation and old French singers.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'd love to share a bit of Quebec/French culture through music by playing songs on the guitar. I alsow know many Beatles songs and I'm learning a few by Bob Dylan.
