Greetings and salutations! I am KAIT: part time vagabond and full time goofball. I was born and raised just outside of Grand Rapids, MI where I currently reside. I’ve lived in East Lansing, MI where I attended Michigan State University for both my bachelors and masters degrees. I also spent a year in France teaching English to high schoolers and two years living in Virginia where I worked as a teacher in an immersion preschool. Currently I work in a children’s museum where I laugh every day.

I take great joy in writing postcards, learning about history, being outside, hiking somewhere to see the sights from up high, sitting on the shores of Lake Michigan, having picnics, cooking with my friends and dancing with wild abandon.

My favorite trips have always included good conversation with new acquaintances, gustatory surprises, secret unexpected intrigues and lots of writing to document all the things that inspire me. I’ve been so lucky to travel to such places as Nashville, TN, Nantes, France, Québec city, QC, Tivoli, Italy, and Regensburg, Germany among many other marvelous places. The best part about each of those occasions was when I was waxing romantic with new and old friends on porches or other scenic overlooks with a well crafted drink in my hands while listening to some good tunes.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like learning and creating and I feel most inspired to do those things when I’m out of my element. I look forward to continuing my education and pushing myself to create art each time I meander somewhere new.
