Overview
About Me
I'm married with a daughter and currently live in South Korea. I consider myself an average, everyday person with no great talents. I've been an engineer, and now I teach English at university. I like to be active in my free time. When I travel, I like to do things, such as walking, bike riding etc.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have learned that it's so much more rewarding experiencing new places by meeting people who live there. I prefer to experience how people live in new places as opposed to tours of sites.
Also, I believe we should communicate more in the world and learn more about each other.
Interests
- anything outdoors. making beer.
Music, Movies, and Books
My musical interests are back in the last century 1980's to 2000, specifically rock music. That makes me feel old. Since living in South Korea I haven't kept track of new music. Having said that, some of them are still going. I got to see Iron Maiden a few years ago in Seoul.
Films vary. I like a wide selection, although I'm not into the current trend of super hero stuff. History related movies like Lawrence of Arabia, or cultural clashes such as Local Hero are two classics I like.
I read a variety of books, mainly history based, or personal experiences. If I had to recommend one, it would be Anne Frank, The Diary of a Young Girl. We can learn so much from the insight into life from such a young girl.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I look on everything in this world as amazing, so I'm not sure I could single out any one thing that I have done that stands above the rest. If I look at what I have done until now, I am happy that I have had the opportunity to do so many different things.
Teach, Learn, Share
The one thing I would like to share is the opportunity to trust others. The more we can learn to trust, the better we can get on in this world.
