About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Spread goodwill and understanding...

ABOUT ME

I try to live live fully, take it as it comes to me, with no regrets, and believe I am pretty successful thus far. Adaptability and resourcefulness I see as my best traits. My strong drive, commitment and intensity oftentimes works for me, but sometimes I stumble over these qualities in my expressions (have been called "Captain Fun" for instance...). I find it hard to specialize when there are so many interesting ways to live, but try to experience as many aspects of life that I can, and live my life independently by my moral and creative constitution.

PHILOSOPHY

Live (fully, responsibly, aware, with love and understanding) and let live...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Just surfing now... Would love to host when I'm home (working on finishing my house)...

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have surfed many couches over the years, but am new to this community...

Interests

Music (listening, playing, and singing), exploring and studying the world (especially the natural world) and culture (especially indigenous), yoga and meditation, outdoor activities of just about any sort (especially in the water or on a mountain), philosophy, activism ("get up, stand up..."), family (though I have no children of my own, I believe my extended family is always growing).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Free diving with whale sharks; water off Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico, 2012...
Independently climbing (carrying my own pack, with friend) over a ~ 17,800 FT pass; Himalayan Mountains, Nepal, 2010...
Speaking at and helping to coordinate panel sessions and outputs at a conference on international fisheries observation and monitoring; Vina del Mar, Chile, 2013...

Teach, Learn, Share

I like to have discussions on political and spiritual philosophy, play and teach music (not very technical, but creative), and share travel experiential knowledge.
