ABOUT ME

I love people! And I love smiling! I'm down to do just about anything as long as its with good people. I'm really easy to get to know if you're meeting me for the first time and I'm very loyal to those who I have known forever. I have a lot of funny personality quirks that I find pretty endearing and most others would say the same. I'm a pretty real person - I live in the moment while still looking forward to the next adventure. I also have a serious side, but it's usually accompanied with the ability to see the humor in all things. I am in love with love of all forms and seek it out actively.

I will soon be venturing out into this great world and I am looking forward to making an international community of friends! So, at the very moment, I have yet to really utilize this great community, but I am so ready to!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have very little couch surfing experience to date, but I am looking to change that in the near future - like now!!

Interessen

I love being active, doing fun and entertaining things with fun and interesting people. If I'm in a new place, I have a hard time sitting down to read a book, I would rather be exploring all the new things to see. People really grab my attention. I like talking to people and hearing about their experiences - I'm intrigued by people's insights, challenges and truly blissful moments. I love communities of people that love each other and that work together well.

I'm also really into being outside - during the summer, I like to go backpacking and/or sea kayaking on longer multi-day trips. I worked as a sea kayak guide in the San Juan Islands, one of the most beautiful places in the world - I loved it! I also really like rock climbing and biking in the warm months. During the winter, skiing is my main hobby. I love the cold powdery fluff!

On the more general side, I love singing and dancing, coffee and tea, dogs, swimming, boats, the sun, dresses, growing plants, working hard, horses, slack lining, great beer and cocktails, water skiing, good music, plays, really good food, great books, making people smile, roller coasters and ice cream - plus quite a few other things.

Musik, Filme und Bücher

I am currently really into the writings of Mr. John Steinbeck. I quite like how he tells a story by using only the details of the time.

I's also interested in science-y types of books- like those on the brain and the body. Bodies are real cool.

I like all sorts of movies - I don't there are many moves that I don't like. Which is nice, because that means everything is pleasing.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

For the past 3 summers, I have worked with teenagers at a summer camp in the San Juan Islands. During those summers, I have had more awe-striking moments that I can really keep track of - the kids come to camp as people unsure of themselves in some respect or another, and they leave with a better understanding of who they are and who they want to be. Creating relationships with these teenagers has been one of the most fulfilling things I have ever done. These kids inspire me to be better, to show compassion to everyone and to simply be myself. It's wonderful! On top of that, the sun sets in the San Juan Islands are some of the most beautiful I have ever seen!

I have never seen a baby be born, human or animal, but I imagine if I did, that would be pretty inspiring.

I laugh a lot. I find that there is at least some humor in most things, even the mundane and it is usually the small things that make me laugh the most. There are many times when this laughter gets the better of me and becomes all consuming for a few hilarious minutes. It's kind of like an uncontrollable fit of laughter. I don't think being awestruck is a good way to describe what happens, but I am definitely struck. It's pretty funny and I like it.

I feel really good when I am dancing, especially at a good concert or show. I've been to quite a few shows, none very recently, however, but dancing to a live band is by far one of my favorite things to do. Awestruck, maybe not, but definitely really happy.

I'm sure there are more things out there in the recesses of my memory, the majority of them revolving around people, but I think it is going to take getting to know me to really hear about them and feel them yourself.
