About Me

I am (back from) traveling this summer working on farms--heading from Atlanta to Washington and lots of places in between. Hiking, camping, swimming in lakes, exploring cities, meeting new people, seeking out beauty and mystery in nature.

I've taught preschool at schools offering alternative education, like Reggio-Emilia and Montessori. I love the idea of revolutionizing education and creating more space for independent thinking and expressing yourself, but I have some reservations about the fact that these alternatives are mostly exclusive to private institutions and not more readily accessible.

I recently worked at Trees Atlanta taking care of the urban canopy, preserving, expanding and maintaining the trees that make Atlanta so amazing. I wanted to find ways to do more hands on work for the world to learn more about this amazing place we call home. It felt right at the time, and I'm still falling into awe over new flowers and trees and animals and places all the time. My best friend and love is also really great at introducing me to birds and plants I never knew before.
I'm looking to learn more about sustainability, empowerment through food and herbalism and the world in general. I've studied Buddhist meditation, and I wwoofed at a Buddhist abbey in Washington state. I like to meet new people and understand and love them-- studied psychology and like to help anybody and everybody out who I can. I have a sweet cat and love animals. And I love trail running, being in the rain, trying local brews (beer or kombucha ;-)), local food, and going on nature walks learning about plants and animals. I like poetry and would love to learn more about it. Trying to learn guitar and ukulele :)

UPDATE***** without a steady home at the moment in Atlanta hopping around, deciding where my next dwelling place is. Unable to host at the moment.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'd love to get to know new places by exploring them with the locals! And also, I'd like to meet new people and hear their stories. So come stay :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I really enjoy Wes Anderson. I like reading books about ecopsychology, poetry ( in particular, Mary Oliver, Rilke, Neruda, janisse ray), salman Rushdie novels-- his explorations of ambiguity are wonderful.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Visited Nepal and felt music in the streets in my bones long after I left, camped alone for the first time and many times after, quit a well-paying job my heart wasn't in to do something more aligned with my worldview and hopes

Moved across the country with a dog and cat and lovely person <3

Teach, Learn, Share

Learning French-- though I recently spent some time with two French guys and know I have a long way to go!

I like nature walks and identifying plants and animals I find there.

Climbing mountains, inviting exhilaration through cold water experiences.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My big heart <3 coffee and a nice vegetarian or vegan meal

Countries I’ve Visited

Nepal
