ABOUT ME

I'm an American currently living Uppsala, Sweden, doing pre-doctoral studies. I love meeting new people and learning about new cultures - after living in Sweden for a year and living in such an international town, I've cultivated a strong travel lust.

When I'm not in the lab, I'm hanging out with friends, exercising, exploring the Swedish outdoors, or hanging out at a cafe with a good cup of coffee and a book. I'm staying in Sweden longer than I had originally planned, so I'm planning a lot of summer travel. Despite working in the sciences, I love the arts - museums, concerts, festivals, food - and I spend a lot of time reading about pop culture stuff.

PHILOSOPHY

Ignore the bad, focus on the good. Coffee solves most everything. Be kind to everyone.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm new to Couchsurfing, but I've heard a lot of successful stories from friends who have tried it. Since I love making new friends (and I can fall asleep on basically anyone's couch), I thought I'd give it a shot with my upcoming travels!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Celebrating Swedish Midsommar, complete with dancing around a maypole and swimming in the freezing river. It's the best holiday in Sweden, and it's really special to me!

Teach, Learn, Share

We don't emphasize learning second languages in the states - I'm ready to become an expert in one other than English! I'm fascinated by language, especially those words and phrases that are unique to one that can't be translated. I'm always dreamed of learning French, but I'm open to learning others. I'm ready to learn!
