ABOUT ME

I am in the midst of an exciting time in my life, I quit my job and am going back to school in September, so in the meantime I have as much flexibility as my savings account will allow!! I am embarking on a solo travel adventure through Central America and eager to meet other couchsurfers along the way.

PHILOSOPHY

I was fortunate to be exposed to the philosophy of yoga and vedanta through my Yoga Teacher's Training Course at the Sivananda Ashram in Bahamas. I haven't thought too much about my own personal philosophy up until this experience, but I think it is now starting to form in the back of my mind. Briefly, the two key messages I took from it are: 1) life is a journey, not a destination, so we must learn from and appreciate every experience and 2) don't get too attached to things, people, ideas, plans. The only thing we can count on is change.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I think the best part of traveling is meeting people, and that is really the only way to experience a place. I have been lucky to create friendships that span the globe and i hope to continue that with couch surfing. I also look forward to hosting once i am settled in one place or another.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've had some fantastic experiences with couch surfing so far, staying with people and using it as a way of meeting like-minded travelers. I like the idea that you can find a community of cool people wherever you go!

兴趣

I enjoy cooking, running, yoga, and listening to music. I speak English and French and a little Spanish. I am interested in urban planning, sustainable design, permaculture, food culture and politics, and issues related to equity and social determinants of health.

音乐、电影和书籍

I love reading. I try to alternate between fiction and non-fiction. I prefer historical fiction as well as light chick-lit. I like to read non-fiction on the various issues I am interested in, including food, the environment, and health.

I like listening to chill electronic music, deep house, that sort of thing. I thoroughly enjoy any type of live music.

I enjoy watching movies, but I haven't watched any in a while. My favourites include old movies especially with audrey hepburn, as well as current comedies.

I am a certified ice skating, downhill skiing, and yoga instructor, and I love to share these passions.
