Hi, world! I'm Kellyn. Nice to meet you. You look great.

As I write this, I'm just days away from departing the city I've lived in my whole life for my first solo-journey abroad. In the last 2 months, I let go of my apartment, my job, my relationship of 3 years- and coffee. Then, since I was on a roll- I bought a cheap flight to Thailand. All this, just to see what happens.

I've been dreaming of traveling for nearly my whole life, and I'm finally putting my money when my mouth is.

About me: I'm 28, a dedicated yoga teacher and practitioner. Back home, I'm a cyclist, and generally, love to be outside and moving around: I love acrobatics, aerials, contact improv, and juggling. I love love love to dance, any excuse, and I'll take it. For the last half-decade, I've attended Burning Man (which I attribute a lot of my perspective-shift to), and plan on going for as long as I can.

I've never traveled alone, or been to Asia, or directed a taxi driver to a hostel I've only seen on the Internet. But I'm up for it.

I'm traveling on a shoestring budget. I saved my money from my $15/hr job for 2 years, and I'm going to be WWOOFing and staying in hostels, but if there's a couch I could stay on, that would be lovely. Regardless of budget, I think staying with someone in their home is a really immersive way of getting to know a foreign place. In efforts to save more money for this trip I'm embarking on, I slept on my friends couch for a month previous- and I think I like it! Couches and me get along. ;)

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

The hardest-hitting and most amazing things to me probably don't sound like much when written-down, but last year I was a counselor at a summer camp for adults called Camp Grounded- a digital detox camp experience where we couldn't know each other's real names, ages, or ask what we did for a living. It was a magical experience.
