About Me

Hi there! Like everyone else on here, I love traveling, and meeting new people from all over the world. I've found that many of my favorite people are expats - anyone who wants to live far away from home and take on the challenges of a new language and culture is pretty cool in my book!

I also have some nerdier interests, like fantasy and sci-fi, working on entrepreneurial projects, physics and cosmology, picking up random languages, and studying things that I know nothing about. Like, so much nerdy stuff. But above all, I enjoy meeting new people and spending time with friends! I am an extrovert, and I love being social and sharing stories and laughs :D

About me as a guest: I'm very easy-going and independent, and in case you don't have much time to show me around, I'll be able to figure things out. I enjoy going out and tend toward a later schedule while traveling (since I have to do some of my work with people on US time zones), but I am always quiet and respectful of other people's space. I am clean and tidy, and would love to contribute to the house by cooking or bringing drinks round, if you'd like! I also would like to get to know my hosts, if you have time - that's what this is all about, isn't it? I'd say, probably we should go out for drinks!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Though not so much through couchsurfing, I've been hosting people pretty much my whole life. And I've been lucky enough to make friends who live all over the world who share their couches with me! I've been out of the travel loop for a little while, and thought this would be a cool way to jump back in. I'm hoping to make some new friends, either by actually couch surfing, or just meeting up on my/our travels!

Interests

My first two favorite things to do in any new city is to find a pub quiz and a rooftop bar or high place with a good view of the city. I also love finding local stand up comedy, in case there's any around!

I also have discovered, via living in the desert for 2 years, that I am a big fan of greenery and the sea. Oh and rain, aaahhhh I miss the rain!

Music, Movies, and Books

How about TV shows instead? Arrested Development, The Office, Parks and Rec, 30 Rock, Community... I could go on, but I think these are some of the best!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Last year I learned to knit my own schmittens! I designed my own pattern and everything. This may not sound amazing to you, but it felt like a big accomplishment to me :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to make an origami bowtie out of whatever currency you get to play with on the daily. Wanna learn some high school algebra? I got you covered! I can share some pretty stellar salad dressing recipes too :D

I'd love to meet people who can teach me a bit about the local language and culture. It would also be great to practice Spanish or French. Mostly, I wanna learn about the people I meet, so get ready to share some stories!

Together we could... cook! Go for drinks! Go on a walking tour of your city? Up to you!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I live in Las Vegas, so I can totally bring you a souvenir from here! Let me know what you collect and I'll bring one over! Classic options from this town are shot glasses, lighters that look like casino chips, postcards, and fridge magnets. (That's what the heading of this section meant, right? No?)
