About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Live each day fully, no regrets, and always experience new places like a local

ABOUT ME

My greatest passions are for travel, culture and people in general. Love dancing, writing, reading, being outdoors, learning new hobbies, random adventures, cafes, fields of yellow flowers, smiling, laughing and LIFE!! I enjoy just about anywhere and anyone, and love learning new things and meeting new people

PHILOSOPHY

Life is too short to be doing something you don't love, so follow your passion and enjoy the ride!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've shown people around various places before and since joining the CS community. While living in Portland, I stayed with my first fabulous host (yay, Don!), and went to some fun CS events where I met more incredible people. Absolutely love the CS community and look forward to more interaction!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Pre-CS, I have stayed with friends of friends a few times and have also hosted friends and friends of friends many times. People are always so happy to open their homes to one another, and it is always interesting to meet new people!

Interests

Among my interests: photography, dance, football, hockey, volunteering, sustainability, music, guitar (want to learn!), rock climbing (want to learn more!), cycling, stars (in the sky, not Hollywood), cafes, animals, beer (making & tasting), wine, sunsets, cooking, baking, yoga, hiking, rugby, marketing/sales, nonprofits, new people...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Too many amazing experiences to count, but here are a few examples:
*Scooter ride in Colonia del Sacramento, Uruguay, out to a bodega that makes grappa in the countryside was awesome! I think the owner of the scooter shop didn't think he'd ever see us alive again!

*My parents' dogs sing when my little sister plays viola - I think that's pretty amazing.

*Two-day day hike in the Swiss Alps. Our guide made an amazing cheese fondue for dinner, with chocolate dessert and lots of wine. The sunset was one of the most amazing I've seen, with colors reflecting on the snow-capped peaks of the higher mountains, and an immense valley below, with a river winding through a town.

*Working on an organic farm in Argentina where no one but a few guests spoke any English, several coworkers were illiterate but among the most intelligent people I've met and there was a random, one-of-a-kind observatory nearby that came to the farm with huge telescopes so we could see the stars and learn about astronomy - incredible!

*At the beach in Guaruja, Brazil, the waves crest at various spots as they approach the beach before spreading out into a shallow pool and glistening wet sand for about 100 yards. Standing in the midst of that during sunset, the sky and water alike were cast in shades of orange and reflections of clouds - it was incredible!

Teach, Learn, Share

Pack an empty bag when traveling long-term. You'll probably need it by the end!
I'm learning about sustainability practices and cultural influence on business relations, and I want to learn more! I also want to learn how to play guitar, and more about rock climbing, surfing and Portuguese
