About Me

I am a half-Trinidadian, half-Canadian (with UK roots) woman, currently on a gap year after finishing my in Psychology in Belgium! I am very enthusiastic about life, I love to learn, I love everything about music and I am a hyper-socializing creature who loves to meet people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love learning about people and their history, and learning about cities and their history! I hope to travel the world meeting people, sharing stories, laughing, chatting until all hours of the night, and learning as much as possible!

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm not the biggest reader, although I wish I was. I read journal articles mostly. My favourite book is The Time Traveller's Wife.

As for movies, I like a good cry. Crash is my ultimate favourite movie. Also 50/50, I am Sam, The Way Way Back.
I also am a child at heart and love kids movies. Finding Nemo is number 1!!!
The last category is musicals!!! Favourite is probably Mulan. But also West Side Story, Rent, Moulin Rouge.

Music - all around everything music lover. If it's good to someone, I want to know why, so I will listen and try to understand why it's good, and usually end up liking it. Favourite genres are singer-songwriters, folk, indie.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The first thing that comes to mind is my big move to Europe. I left a lot of friends and family in Canada to start a Master's degree in Belgium (2 years). I always wanted to live in Europe and experience other cultures (Canada has a lot of diversity, but the culture of Canada is diversity....so I was craving distinct culture). I moved to Belgium, and now I have landed here for a little while longer (4 more years). I love living in Europe and I am working on building a life here, and it feels like a pretty amazing thing to have done.

I feel like that's a popular answer, so the other amazing thing I've done is to work as a Supply program assistant for a Community Health Centre in Ottawa. I worked with kids of all ages who come from low-income families to help them have a wholesome life. I worked with amazing people to help so many kids deal with the backgrounds they come from (abuse, neglect etc.), help them make friends, build their confidence, deal with their emotions, succeed in school, eat healthy, and feel loved. I think that is also a pretty amazing thing.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My love of chatting to anyone about anything. I also am open-minded, non-judgmental and try to be helpful in all aspects of life. I can also serenade you if you give me a guitar or a piano.
