Overview
About Me
Hey everyone! I'm Kelsey, a 31-year-old psychologist who is currently taking some time out to travel the world and learn more about myself after some long years of schooling and work.
Aside from growing up and living most of my life in Oregon, I have lived for the last four years (prior to traveling) in Ireland, where I met my boyfriend, Luke (Doctor of Osteopathy). We left Ireland and have been traveling through Latin America together for an undetermined amount of time.
Aside from Psychology, I'm also a certified yoga teacher. I completed my Yoga Teacher Training in Rishikesh, India. I love the outdoors, rock climbing, hiking, swimming (even in the sea in Ireland in January), slack-lining, reading, spending time with family, friends and animals, travel (obviously), good food, meeting new people, and learning Spanish!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love getting to meet new people and sharing my experiences, skills and energy with them. I'm new to couchsurfing, but it seems like a great way to do all of those things while saving money and not staying in sterile hotel environments during my travels. I'd also love to host couchsurfers one day when I'm settled and finished (for a time) with my travels, so getting to see how other people do it is a good place to start!
Interests
In a nutshell, I'm a psychologist who loves sports, the outdoors, has a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, is learning to surf, is a decent rock climber, loves to cook and eat good food, wants to become fluent in Spanish, and is currently traveling around the world.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm a huge fantasty fan...I can talk for too long about The Name of the Wind and The Wise Man's Fear by Patrick Rothfuss, so if you're a fan please do let me know! I'm always looking for new reading recommendations and I'm more than happy to share my recommendations on as well.
As for music, I like a bit of nearly everything. I love singing and my boyfriend and I love sharing music wherever we go. We usually travel with at least a guitar, so a jam session or private performance are definitely possible!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I helped release protected baby sea turtles to the wild immediately after they hatched.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm a certified yoga teacher (200hr YTT) and I have my TEFL teaching certificate as well. I'm also a Psychologist and have a lot of experience supporting people in integrating non-ordinary experiences.
What I Can Share with Hosts
As a certified yoga teacher, I'm happy to give you a private class or even one with your friends and family as well.
I'm often traveling with my boyfriend, who is a Doctor of Osteopathy, and he is happy to provide an osteopathic assessment, chiropractic adjustment or deep tissue massage as well. We also usually travel with at least a guitar and love sharing music everywhere we go.
I'm a laid-back person who is easy to get along with. I'm compassionate, respectful, a good listener, and (most importantly to some) I clean up after myself. I'm a pretty good cook, although after being vegetarian for the last 10 years I certainly shouldn't be trusted with meat.
