About Me
New! Never couchsurfed before!
My partner (Josh) and I have been travelling around North America in car-turned-camper for the last few months. We're an adventurous couple; we love to hike and explore new cities. I'm interested local food scenes and cooking and he's really into live music and records. We're both educated, mature individuals and we love intellectual and meaningful conversations.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Right now (as of April 13, 2019), we're a little bit stranded. Our car/home (affectionately named Rupert) is in desperate need of repairs, which means our means of travelling and sleeping are temporarily unavailable. We don't have a lot of cash, so we're turning to Couchsurfers to try and find an alternative while we wait for Rupert to be returned to us.
Interests
We prioritize parks in our travels--give us a hiking trail and we're happy. We like being outdoors and surrounded by nature. Neither of us grew up in cities and we're not totally comfortable in urban settings (although we lived in Toronto for 1.5 years). Our time in cities is usually focused on record shops, live music, and interesting food. On that note, we prefer to cook our own food and mostly consume a vegetarian diet. We're trying to live as sustainably as possible, slowly working towards a zero-waste lifestyle (except for our fuel emissions, for the time being).
