ABOUT ME

I grew up in a sleepy country village in Suffolk, England. I am a freelance animator creating short films, music videos, advertisements, and anything else that is required of me. I always loved drawing/doodling, and seeing how ideas develop as they happen. Animation gives me an goal to focus these ideas and energy into - which is cool.

When I am not animating I am usually creating music, hanging out with friends, cooking vegetarian food, playing roller derby. I play guitar in 2 bands which is another great outlet for my creative ideas.

I think I'm quite relaxed and easy to get along with, but I'll let you be the judge of that. I live a simple life by choice, I value friends and life experience over money and possessions.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

When I talk to people about my travels who have never Couch surfed they always think i'm mad, but their doubts and fears seem mad to me as I have never had a bad couch surfing experience. I's so nice arriving in a strange unknown place and being made to feel instantly at home by all the great people on this site. There are lots of friends I would have never met, lots of cool places I would never have seen, and lots of beers I would never have shared if I hadn't couch surfed. So, thank you, to everyone on this site that I've crossed paths with.

兴趣

I Love live music, and sharing a good beer with friends, luckily these often go hand in hand :) When in places new to me I enjoy just walking around, exploring and geocaching. I enjoy sports such as snowboarding, roller derby, skateboarding. Drawing and animation are a very big part of my life. I enjoy seeing art exhibitions whenever I can.

I am a massive music fan, and try to absorb as many new bands as I can. I listen to a lot of Prog, Post-Progressive and Metal, Porcupine Tree, Explosions in the Sky, Meshuggah etc. Though I'm always open to music of any genre as long as it has soul. I like to experience music from different cultures when I am travelling.

Obviously a big fan of Anime and Animation from studios such as Ghibli, Pixar, Laika, Aardman. I like fantasy and sci-fi such as LOTR or the X-files. Dramas and Biopics like Into the wild and The Wrestler.

I don't have as much time to read as I would like, but when I do it's usually Sci-fi or fantasy. Some favourites include Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time, Stephen King's Dark Tower, Asimov's Foundation series. I also enjoy comics such as Sandman, Fables, Preacher etc.

I would love to learn everything. but realistically just simple things like being a better cook, artist and musician. I would like to know more about history, and folklore, and to learn a language, but there are too many and I can't decide which.
I'm happy to pass on what little knowledge I have about music, guitar technique, animation, Zelda Dungeons etc.
