I am 75 years young. Retired in Oct. 2021. Have a 26 yr. old daughter, Alexandra and a 24yr. old son, Nicholas. In my retirement, I plan on taking a lot of road trips and traveling. This is why I joined Couchsurfing. i love meeting new people, especially ones of different ethnic backgrounds to learn about their countries, upbringing and outlook. I love animals, sailing and music of all kinds. Eating is a hobby. I love trying new foods.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As I mentioned before, I retired and my main source of income is SS and therefore am on a budget. Couchsurfing is a big help in keeping travel costs down and meeting locals which to me is the most vital aspect in traveling.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a Baby Boomer. Let's talk rock n roll but I love all music. It is definitely a universal language. I love movies, a lot of different genres from James Bond to Mr. Bean. Reading is a wonderful way to introduce you to a different world. Most recent books read are, The Telling Room, Vagabonding and Mere Christianity. Yes, I am a Christian also.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Last October/November I spent 2 amazing weeks in Portugal and Spain with my daughter and son.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love teaching people the joys of, and how to sail. It is a very intimate way of being one with the forces of nature. I enjoy learning about other cultures and I, though I function very well on my own, enjoy sharing good things with others, whether it be a good dinner, a bottle of wine or even a good cup of coffee.
