About Me

Hi! We are Kenton (HK) and João (Portugal). This account is a shared account since July 2022 as we decided to spend a year travelling in South America and Europe. We will move to Madrid in August 2023 and plan to start hosting there once we settle down. Read more about us in our workaway profile:

"Life truly begins at the edge of the comfort zone"

Curating project "Inspride" - which aims to discover and document inspirations around the world. Through getting in touch with local communities via volunteering / couchsurfing / meetup, I would like to create a platform showcasing these unique stories embracing pride in their lives. If you're keen knowing more, please feel free to drop me a message. Cheers!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To travel like a local.

Couchsurfing has been on my mind for years, unforunately I could not host in my home since I live with my family in a shoebox apartment.

I'm grateful to meet fellow kind-hearted CSers whom shared the great passion in travelling around the world. I'd love to meet up with travellers in HK, sharing information like where to find local delicacies, best hiking trails etc., as a way to give back to the CS community.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love languages. Currently picking up Japanese and Spanish. If you happen to be learning Cantonese, Mandarin or English, feel free to hit me up and I'd love to have you as a language partner.

I am a foodie! I love to cook, experiment with taste. I'd love to share with you my family recipe to make the best Shanghaiese wontons! (dumplings)

I am proud and out. Being a part of the LGBT community made me a better person and introduce me to a warm, welcoming family. I hope Couchsurfing allows me to meet fellow LGBT allies which we can share our stories and together create a future with acceptances.
