Overview
About Me
I am a lover of life, and a creator of happiness & positive vibrations. I have an insatiable desire for travel and forging meaningful connections with people; and I believe in living fully in each moment.
I have many passions, and hope to ultimately harness these to bring about a positive change in the world.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Primarily, I am interested in having local people to interact with when visiting other places; and I would also like to interact with foreigners who visit the country in which I am living.
Also, I have vowed to stop supporting large chain hotels. I believe that they take more than they give to developing economies and the people who work for them.
I'm also interested in the cross-cultural learning that is possible through interactions with people from different localities.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Backpacked Central America alone (no, I don’t speak Spanish).
Before that, I would have said that attending the 1st inauguration of Barack Obama was pretty amazing!
It wasn't only amazing because of the significance of the moment, but because of the wide cross-section of nationalities and cultures that mingled in Washington DC in the days before and after the event.
Before the inauguration, the feeling in the air was simply, magical. Everyone was bubbling with excitement--it was as if the state team had won the SuperBowl.
I believe we all felt as if we had won a collective struggle.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am a pretty good cook, and will share some secrets for making awesome Jamaican meals.
I also know a lot about Jamaican & Caribbean culture and economic history, and would be willing to share that information with anyone.

Most importantly, I’m willing to share in adventures and experiences while hosting or being hosted.
I’m interested in learning other languages, and about local culture. I’m also open to learning things like gardening, painting, ceramics, et al.
