My partner and I are currently in Japan for 3 weeks and would love to meet some locals :)

I’m 28, and Charlie is 30, both from England. We currently live in Western Australia.

We are outgoing, open-minded, and always wanting to learn new things and experience different cultures and ways of life. I am hoping to meet interesting people who can tell me their stories of travels and experiences.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I find Couchsurfing is a great way to meet locals and make friends from all over the world. I had the best experience when I was hosted in NZ years ago and it has left a very positive memory. When visiting new countries I love meeting the locals!

Interests

Big fan of nature, we are always out hiking or finding new spots to explore. We recently bought binoculars to bird watch which is always lovely. Enjoy going for yummy food and getting drinks also.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music- I literally like everything and it always changes. I’m really loving at the minute soft easy listening or Jazzy music. I like classics like Bowie, Pink Floyd, Jeff Buckley, Arctic Monkeys, and chilled music like Tom Misch, FKJ, and Jorja Smith. I also like heavier music and have about 50 different playlists on Spotify. I love finding good songs from different countries, and currently have playlists of Spanish, Italian, Portuguese/Brazilian and Indian music. Send me recommendations!

Books- I am currently reading Fourth Wing, I like fantasy books. Also listening to the GOT series on Audible :)

Movies- Harry Potter, Call Me by your name, Portrait of a Lady on Fire, Everything Everywhere all at Once, Shawshank Redemption (and many many more that I can't currently think of). I love artsy films, love, comedy, psychological thrillers, and horror. I always appreciate good film recommendations.

I also love series like Handmaid's Tale, Game of Thrones, Black Mirror, Normal People etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I lived in New Zealand for 2.5 years. I went on a Working Holiday and I miss it very very much. I also did a programme in Delhi for a month and miss the fast paced Delhi life!

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach- I can teach English to those who would like to learn. I also love to cook, and have done Italian and Indian cooking classes so can practice cooking together. I love plants and growing things such as tomato plants, avocado plants etc, and could help with simple gardening.

Learn- I am always willing to learn new things, I have always wanted to learn a new language, I would like to learn many languages but Spanish is one I would really love to know. I also would love to learn anything creative :)

Share- I would like to share adventures with new people and stories! It would be nice to spend time with people to be shown around places and share just time and conversations. We currently are unable to host but when we can we can share our home in Aus.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can potentially share my space with (I have a sofa that's OK to sleep on). I can share cooking, fun stories and hopefully some fun adventures.
