ABOUT ME

All about me? You don't want much, do you?? Well, let's see...I'm a piano technician by trade, a software engineer by education, a rock climber and hiker by choice, an artist by design, a humorist by inclination and a musician because music is how I see the world. I have some strong opinions, but I try to let the other person talk more than me (sometimes I succeed). Politics are pretty progressive, but not far-left - basically, I think the lust for money and power are ruining this country, just like every other major civilization. Religion, we could talk about it for years without coming to any conclusions, which is how I think it should be. Anything else? Oh yeah, if you're the type of person who allows strangers to share their home for a time in order to touch base with other souls, you have my admiration. And my thanks.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

No official experience (through this group), but I've been blessed to have many generous souls share their homes with me. All these experiences have been good, and some have been amazing. The best have been those in which the conversation, over drinks or coffee, have gone on far into the night.

I can't think of anything I wouldn't want to discuss, as long as the person is genuinely interested and has something to say. Music, politics, futurism, China, education, personal growth, spirituality are just a few that come to mind.

I'm not an especially accomplished mountaineer, but I have climbed to heights and seen vistas that most people have not. What I find amazing is not so much the sense of achievement, although that's considerable, but more the knowledge that such wild places even exist.
