Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm taking a new approach to travel! I've always wanted to see as much of the US as I can before I travel abroad. Someone close to me recommended this app. I'm apprehensive because of racial tension, but I'm hopeful to meet cool, open minded people in the area. I'm looking for temporary work in the city so if you know of anything please let me know. I'd like to save a little before I hit my next destination which is hopefully somewhere in California.
