About Me

If you spend any time on this site, you’ll probably read just about every outlandish and exaggerated claim known-to-man. So I’m going to do you a favor and break down my vital stats… simply and honestly.

I’ve won 18 consecutive Olympic gold medals in freestyle swimming. I’ve built a real estate empire spanning 32 countries. And I teach blind, orphaned dogs how to read.

Alright, so maybe I'm exaggerating a *tad.* I might not have won gold at the Olympics (...yet), but I’m no couch potato either... If traveling were a sport, then I’d make that my chosen discipline. My real estate portfolio might not be “empire” level, but it’s growing. And I do have a dog named Charley - he’s not blind, but I did adopt him.

During the day, I’m an engineer designing ventilation systems for hospitals and schools. I know that’s at least the 7th sexiest job a man can have, but please, hold your impulses.

On the side, I rent some houses and flip others. What I’m most interested in though is taking communities that’ve been left behind and revitalizing them. It’s kind of like an episode of “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” just on a bigger scale.

In my free time, I enjoy taking my dog out to explore a park and throw the ball for him (he still hasn’t quite figured out the concept of “fetch”). Weekend camping trips are always fun. And when I really want to unwind, I might fly overseas or relax at my vacation house on the beach in Jersey.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like traveling solo but not alone. When I get to my destination, I'm happiest throwing myself in with the crowd at the hostel and making friends and memories. Unfortunately, Hostels in the US are mostly in the major cities. I'm bringing the hostel mindset to rural America! I am looking to meet people, locals, who know the areas I will be traveling in. I’d be more than happy to do the dishes, help with home repairs, or buy you a beer!

Interests

Hiking with my dog, Traveling, Kayaking, Indie Rock, Gnocchi fresh from the oven, Fiction and Non-fiction books, DIY house projects, riding motorcycles long distances on back roads.
