Overview
About Me
I'm currently an MBA student who just joined Couchsurfing to find a place to stay at a conference in Omaha for the first weekend in May. Would love to take my host out to dinner and drinks, or provide some groceries.
It's relatively short notice and I don't mind getting verified, if that is necessary to find a place to stay. I am just as happy to connect over the phone to introduce myself more personally. Thanks guys!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Although it's my first time using Couchsurfing, I have many friends who have both stayed with others and hosted friends, both in US and from when I lived in China. Meagan and I have hosted people who were traveling to China while we lived in Beijing. It's a great community to be a part of, and we believe that to be able to see the world you shouldn't have to spend a bunch of dough.
Interests
Love playing ice hockey, I've played with the Chinese and Mongolian men's ice hockey teams before (outside, in February... cold!) As you can tell by the trip to Omaha, I'm interested in investing and learning how to identify real, lasting value--in companies and elsewhere.

Music, Movies, and Books
Just finished The Stars My Destination by Alfred Bester--for anyone who likes sci-fi, you GOTTA check this book out. Richly imagined, approaches Ender's Game in terms of how cool the story is and how much I enjoyed it.
Big music fan, indie stuff and new wave mostly, but a fan of classic rock and rap as well.
Big fan of older Adam Sandler, have mixed feelings about Interstellar but generally think Christopher Nolan is the man. I think The Edge of Tomorrow is one of Cruise's best--Saving Private Ryan meets Halo.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Climbed Mount Fuji with my fiancee, Meg. Hiked 500 km across Spain from the Pyrennes to Santiago Compostela on the Camino of St. James. Lived in China for 6 years and consider Beijing a third home--along with Boston (went to university there) and New York (grew up there).
Teach, Learn, Share
Acolyte of Sal Khan and Khan Academy; moving from the French Revolution to computer coding (drawing using JS) right now. Love that guy.
