I am Kevin, and I live in Hoi An, Vietnam with my wife. I absolutely love hosting, and find that Couchsurfing is a great way to share my life with travelers and friends. My wife and I love creating a welcoming environment filled with wonderful people wherever we live, so come and teach me, share with me, walk with me, talk with me, eat with me and drink with me.

I have lived in a few different spots around the world, originating from good 'ol Virginia in the USA. I spent two years working as a Peace Corps volunteer in Nicaragua, a year in Korea, and now been in Vietnam for 4 years and running.

When school is in session I work long hours, 5 days a week, so I tend not to host. But during school breaks I love opening my doors to kind and adventurous travelers. I usually spend my days reading, going to the beach, hanging with fellow couchsurfers, drinking beer, and finding delicious food.

I love the couchsurfing community, as it has brought me much joy over the years. I have hosted much more than I have surfed thus far, but I really enjoy meeting with travelers and locals along the way! I am not a traveler with a long itinerary or list of things that I MUST see. I remain spontaneous and have a strong desire to get involved in the normal lives of my couchsurfing guests and hosts. I would much rather spend an afternoon talking and joking with a couchsurfer on the rooftop then waiting in line at a museum surrounded by a million tourists.

Food is probably my biggest passion so I'll find my way into your kitchen at some point during my stay to dirty some dishes.

I absolutely love hosting! If it is a large dinner party, a visit from family and friends, or a Couchsurfing guest, I receive a real sense of joy in sharing my space, food and time with other humans.

From the traveling perspective, I don't like making an itinerary of places and things that I NEED to visit. I prefer spending time with people, either locals or fellow travelers, and getting involved in spontaneous adventures. I find that couchsurfing is a good facilitator for this.

I maintain an interest in politics and social issues, and enjoy consuming media that falls within this sphere. So this includes non-fiction books, documentaries, a daily following of DemocracyNow!, and various other content. I enjoy getting into conversations surrounding various political and/or social topics to compliment recent learning.

To escape from the constant flow of seemingly bad news, I like a novel or turning on a great movie.
