About Me

Hello! My name is Kevin. I've lived in four different continents, mainly grew up in the United States. I graduated from Pacific Union College in scenic Napa Valley, California in 2012 and received my Biomedical certificate from Loma Linda University. For the past few years, I've worked for several international aid organizations in Africa (USAID, LEH, Guba, Manzini Youth Care) as a medical assistant and a conductor for public health projects. I recently returned to the U.S. last year and have been working as a tutor for high school and university students.

I will be starting medical school in August; my professional goal is to return to Africa as a doctor and work for underserved communities.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have free time until August, and I'm planning on traveling across most of Europe and Asia till then! While reading travel blogs, I read good things about Couchsurfing and decided to make an account. When I visit a new country, I am interested in meeting locals to have a decent chat, share ideas and learn something new. It seems like Couchsurfing is going to make that process a lot easier and smoother!

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm open to a wide variety of music ranging from classical, rocknroll, house to DnB. Not a fan of screamo though

Movies- I like movies that are humorous and light-hearted. Anything that's entertaining.

Books- I recently read three cups of tea. A story about a guy from the United States going to Pakistan and Afghanistan to build schools and providing education to vulnerable children. Awesome story. Highly recommend it!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I backpacked across Southern Africa. Does that count?

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share my traveling experiences, but I'd be more interested in hearing your stories :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I don't currently have a place to host at the moment, but once I settle down for school in August, I'd be able to host in California.

Countries I’ve Lived In

Japan, South Korea, Swaziland, United Kingdom, United States, Zambia
