I am a big outdoor enthusiast that loves gaining new experiences. I am constantly looking to meet new people, try new foods, learn a new sport, and travel to new places. I truly believe one of the greatest satisfactions in life is exploring the unknown. This philosophy is the driving force behind many of the activities I take part in and many of the decisions I make. This is also one of the major reasons I joined couchsurfing. I consider myself a polite easy going guy and will be more than willing to help out around the house in repayment for the couch. In my free time I try to stay as active as possible by snowboarding, rock climbing, mountain biking, hiking, camping, and playing various sports with friends. A couple fun facts about me: I am a pole-vaulter and I am pretty darn good at playing the didgeridoo.

I am on Couchsurfing first and foremost because of my love of traveling. I greatly enjoy the opportunity to explore new places and people around the world. Particularly, while traveling, I enjoy being able to meet locals and trying to learn as much about their culture as possible. During my previous travels I have stayed mostly at hotels/hostels. While these have been unregrettable experiences, it has seemed difficult at times to genuinely experience the unique culture of my travel destinations. I am hoping that Couchsurfing might provide me with the opportunity to more easily meet locals and learn about their culture.

Some of my favorite bands include, My Morning Jacket, The Beatles, Daft Punk, and Railroad Earth. But really I enjoy all types of music and always enjoy hearing new stuff. A few of my favorite movies are Memento, the Dark Knight trilogy, and Anchorman. I don't specifically have a favorite book, but my favorite genre is fantasy.
