ABOUT ME

I'm just an average guy looking to gain knowledge in the world. I haven't traveled too much and could count the number of countries I've been to on two hands. I have never wrestled a bear in Russia, swam with sharks in Australia, nor have I dodged bullets in the Serengeti, but I would try anything at least once, so I'm looking to get as many experiences in as possible when travelling or otherwise.

PHILOSOPHY

Remember that cheesy line that parents and teachers always drilled into you?

"One should treat others as one would like others to treat oneself"

Well after years of scoffing at that quote I realized how true it was. The basics of (at least my) morality is simple, just follow the Golden Rule.

While I still may be searching for it, the meaning of life, or why I live life is as general and ambiguous as that rule. I live life to enjoy it. Part of the enjoyment, I think is to fulfill my responsibility in this world. Whether that be to ensure the preservation of the stability of the climate and environment, or simply helping or giving something to the needy.

Empathy is therefore how I live my life. While love is important and I really hope to find it one day, empathy is what makes our world spin.

Interests

Eating great food, enjoying beautiful scenery, swimming in the ocean, basically anything relaxing and fun.

I love history, religion and culture, am a total geek. I study the environment and conservation, but you can strike up a conversation with me about anything! I will try to at least sound knowledgeable about it!

Whether it's outdoor or indoor, I'm willing to try just about anything.

Music, Movies, and Books

Too many. I watch almost all types of movies, almost all types of music (except most hip hop and old country for some reason), and so many types of books (but am currently reading more historical non-fiction)
