Hi! We are Kevin and Emmy, 22 and 21, and a couple from the Netherlands. We are both studying biology, and came to Brisbane for an internship abroad. We are doing research in banana plant diseases, since it has turned out to be a pretty big threat in the last couple of years.

ABOUT THE HOUSE

We live in a quiet and friendly area and are definitely not a party house (although we do throw the occasional party). The house is a two leveled Queenslander, with 2 people living downstairs and 5 people living upstairs. We are an international house, with two Aussies, one Dutch couple (us), one kiwi, one guy from Austria and one girl from Germany. We have two bathrooms, two toilets, two kitchens and a living room. The semi-private couchsurfer room is upstairs, and can be closed with curtains. We have one queen-sized bed and one single-sized bed. Bedding and towels are present.

We have a beautiful wood fired pizza oven, and love to organize pizza nights together. We also enjoy watching movies and go rockclimbing and have seven pretty chickens. Our house is non smoking.

An 11-hour hiking trip through the forest in the valley of the Blue Mountains. We had the most amazing time enjoying the waterfalls, trees, views and wildlife.

Slept in a hammock on Bondi Beach for NYE after watching the amazing firework show.

We are both studying biology and know a little of a lot. We always say: the more you learn of something, the more you know of something, the more you don't know. What we try to say is, if you really dig in to a subject, you'll notice there is a lot of unknown things. And that's exactly the reason why we are on couchsurfing. To show people things that are unknown to a lot of people (Nice spots in the city, or great swimming holes), and to find those spots through a local host. We love to learn new stuff, if it's about engineering or biology (it doesn't matter), and love to find new, local, non-touristic places.

Qué puedo ofrecer a los anfitriones

We are always in for telling some stories, sharing our knowledge in biology, going on a hike, learning new recipes for cooking, or just watching a movie. We have hosted people and will host people when we arrive back in the Netherlands. We think it's only normal that if you opened your house for us, we do the same for you.
