About Me

Hey! I’m Kevin!
I lead a project to bring back the value of nixtamalized corn — not just as food, but as memory, identity, and resilience. I’m also part of DAI A.C., a civil society organization where I work with rural communities to regenerate local food systems through participatory innovation, data, and trust-building. This is my day-to-day work, but also part of a much deeper purpose.
Beyond that, I’m the creator of Innerscape — a guided program that helps individuals and groups gain clarity and focus to design and scale regenerative projects. I believe inner alignment is the foundation for outer impact.
I’m not here to collect places. I travel to connect — to cook, to walk, to exchange ideas, and to hold space for honest conversations. I love food with stories, music, and creating things that feel alive.
If we cross paths, I’d love to share something real — a meal, a story, or maybe a question we can live into together.

Hola, soy Kevin!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Because I don’t believe in traveling just to check places off a list.
I’m here to meet people who live with intention, curiosity, and kindness. I’m here to listen, share, and maybe even co-create something — even if it’s just a memorable meal or a good conversation.
Couchsurfing reminds me that hospitality is a radical act. That the world isn’t made of strangers — just people we haven’t shared a kitchen or a story with yet.
I’m looking for real human connection, for moments that feel like home in unfamiliar places, and for experiences that go beyond tourism.

Interests
I'm a person who was raised with the principles of rural development and sustainability; indigenous way of thinking and different ways to interact with the world were part of our daily home discussions. As I was growing up we always had visitors and it was always interesting for me to get to know how they lived in their cities and countries; I guess I've always been curious about what's out there... So my worldview now have principles of the modern and the traditional thinking of some Mexican cultures. I can say that I've been privileged.
I studied sustainable development in an intercultural university and I've been cultivating my mind to have an integrate vision of the social and rural process in the south of Mexico. I like to discover new ways to observe and interact with our life, learning and getting involve into different cultures can make this possible.
After my bachelor studies I decided to study a Masters program abroad, I applied to the university and got a scolarship; I lived in Stuttgart, Germany for two years. I was enrolled in an International program in the University of Hohenheim; I think it was one of the best experiences of my life. The discussions and the experience from my colleagues was, without a doubt, one of the best parts of my studies. I finished my Masters and got a degree in Organic Agriculture and Food Systems.
I moved back to San Cristobal and right now I'm the director of a small NGO working with local seeds and agrobiodiversity.
I like to have nice talks about any subjects, if there is good music, coffee or beer, it's amazing!
Music, Movies, and Books
I like different music genders but i listen a lot of ska, reggae and rock.
Artic Monkeys, Phosphorescent, Bon Iver, Foo Fighters, My Morning jacket, Mando diao, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Bob Dylan, Cat Stevens, John Mayall, Gus Black, Local Natives, Los Amigos Invisibles, Andrés Calamaro, Los Cafres, Cultura Profética, Dancing Mood, Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra, The Skatalites, Manu Chao, Matisyahu...
I like to read Kafka, Gorki, Garcia Marquez, Kundera, Julio Verne, Benedetti, Galeano, Juan Rulfo...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My parents started a small NGO to work in rural development with indigenous and non indigenous communities in Chiapas when I was studying in the university. I got enrolled with more and more responsibilities as I was finishing my studies, after my Masters I took full responsability and now I'm the director.
I applied and won the Food Security and Nutrition award in the 2017 "Solution Search: Farming for Biodiversity" contest and now I'm working on replicating and scaling our NGO :)
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you Spanish, of course. Intensive Tequila and Mezcal courses as well, from the history going through how to make some cocktails! ;)
If you are into it, I can share our experience working with communities in Chiapas and our approach to work with local seeds and promote agrobiodiversity potential to improve farmers households.
I love food so I can take you to the best places to eat in Sancris ;)
