I'm currently on a two month trip overseas which is my first trip out of Australia since before covid!

ABOUT ME

I am an adventurer at heart who enjoys learning about the world and experiencing it by travelling to different countries and learning the culture and way of life, and by being in nature. I am a keen hiker, rock climber and mountain biker. I enjoy practicing yoga because the movements combined with the mindfulness brings a sense of peace and grounding to my mind.

PHILOSOPHY
I am most satisfied through personal development. This includes learning facts, learning about the world we live in, training the mind, and developing practical skills.

I feel that the best way to summarise myself would be libertarian; I think everybody has a right to do whatever they wish so long as it as carried out with respect to others and causes no harm to other people or the planet.

I love challenges, especially those that can combine my love of adventure and travel.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

First heard about it when I went on my first long-term trip in 2013 so gave it a try and had a few great experiences. I love couchsurfing because one of my favourite things to do while travelling is to hang out with local people and chat to them and learn about their country, culture, ways of life etc.

If you would like to be hosted by me, I value a good, personalised couch request over everything else, with a reason as to WHY you would like to be hosted by me. It doesn't matter if you have one reference, or over a hundred, or share similar interests with me.

Interests

I love being outdoors and doing outdoor sports such as rock climbing, mountain biking and hiking. I love eating good food and drinking coffee/tea while chatting about life.

I have been a regular practitioner of yoga for the last several years and I have really started to properly realize the mental benefits it provides. I completed a 200 hour YTT in India in May 2019, which was an amazing experience

I am very interested in history and politics, and that definitely is part of what makes me travel to the places that I do.

Music, Movies, and Books

Too many movies to list

With music I like a diverse range of genres and will go through stages where I am listening to one genre much more than others. My favourite genres in general though would include: hip-hop, trip hop, trance, and house music. For partying out in clubs I love techno.

I read a wide range of books which include everything from historical classics to fantasy to autobiographies to thrillers.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Most of my most amazing memories come from times spent outdoors either hiking, rock climbing or from travelling in different countries.

I recently completed a 850km hike across Kyrgyzstan which was an amazing experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love history and politics, and love to have long discussions with people on historical events and how we should learn from some of them. I enjoy hearing about other people's political views to learn more about them and their home countries. I enjoy having deep conversations about life and our place in the universe as well.

I am an experienced rock climber and mountain biker and am very happy to join people who are keen for those sports, or to show new people how fun they can be!

Always wanted to learn to ski.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can talk about my life in Australia and about the culture there. I have many stories from travelling and outdoor adventures that I can share as well. I am very willing to help hosts with their daily lives such as cleaning the house, cooking, and whatever other jobs required.
I am a great listener and am open minded enough to have a chat about absolutely anything.
