ABOUT ME
im either incredibly lucky or im the right person in the right place at the right time. i mostly enjoy my life, i spend a lot of time around animals and outdoors compared to the average american adult. im lucky enough to have grown up in a home that encouraged thought, so as my life and perspectives have shifted, my beliefs have become more nuanced. ive always enjoyed travel even when it meant coming in contact with challenging core cultural differences.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

in my 20's i loved seeing human generosity as a way to make connections in a new place. two of the most daunting aspects of foreign travel for me are the cost and comfort of lodging, and feeling alone and overwhelmed in a new place. with couchsurfing i found fast and meaningful connections to people and places, and i loved the gift of receiving people, grounding them, and sharing with them a shortcut to comfort and community during their travels.

while these days i mostly travel with family and i tend to put us in a home that we can temporarily call our own, there are some place that ill travel to without my community in tow, where i’ll want to rely on that feeling i get when a stranger is kind and shares their world with me. whether it be a meal, a bed, or a recommendation, the feeling is comforting.

Interests

when left to my own devises i tend towards joys of the senses. i love to eat, drink, listen to music, look at pretty things, feel good etc.
i find a lot of things interesting when im learning about them. i listen to people like they are lecturers.

Music, Movies, and Books

this is shifting more quickly than i care to update but some standbys are gospel and r&b from women with strong voices and awesome range, 90's popular alternative rock, 60's world political rock, indie rock 2000's, lately afrobeat and Japanese hip-hop.
i have a soft spot for espionage, strong female roles, gay coming of age, adaptations from play, and car chases.
