ABOUT ME

Hi to all you guys out there, I am fairly new to the concept of traveling especially in the form of couch surfing. I am currently studying in Bremen, Germany which acts as a work placement to my degree back home in England.
I study at the University of Salford which is in Manchester, and I am one of few people on my course that has chosen to go abroad for a year and do something a bit different. So far my time in Germany has been amazing! I have had a chance to meet many people from different cultures, and also meet as and get to know families in Bremen.
This experience has been so refreshing for me after two years of study and I am realising how much understanding and joy can be gained from meeting new people and learning about new cultures and ideals. It has definitely revived me, and I am now looking to explore and meet even more people. From this experience I would like to develop more as a person and have some great times. In return I hope when I am living in a more stable condition I can offer the same experience to someone where ever I am.
As a person I have always tried my best at everything, however I am not really competitive. I enjoy sharing good friendships, and find it hard when I cannot find a way to get on with someone, although I know that sometimes the latter cannot be helped. I am also a great lover of art and enjoy painting with oils when I have the time, as I find painting extremely relaxing and a time to reflect. I also find it as a way to work on something that is seperate from everyday life, like an escape in a way.
Family wise I have parents and a younger a brother and sister, and I think being the eldest has definitely shaped me in some ways. I also have an awesome dog called Sam- she is ment to be a bearded collie but she is a bit of a mix we think. However she is totally crazy and I love her!
Anyway I could probably write more however it would be an essay by the time I have finished- but if you want to know more about me feel free to ask!

PHILOSOPHY

I don't have a personal philosophy as such, but I do like to make the most of every day, and I am not very good at sitting and doing nothing. I also feel that I should make it a personal aim to enjoy as many things as possible, and I have always had a big urge to travel for as long as I can remember even when the opportunity to travel was not an option.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I can't offer a couch unfortunately because I am living with a family at the moment and it would not be reasonable to have a couch surfer as well as me in the house. However I still want to meet people and would love to meet people through coffee, or tea, or even a hot chocolate or beer. I also love to go out for food and have a good chat :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have no experience of couch surfing as yet. I was introduced to couch surfing when I came to Bremen by several fellow couch surfers who told me it was a good way to get to know new people and travel a bit. This is something I would love to do, and I hope that soon my experience will be more then it is at the moment.

Interests

My interests are quite extensive, I like to stay healthy and enjoy jogging, walking and swimming. I also like to draw, and paint although I have not been able to do much of this since I left to england. I also like to read, go to the theatre and laugh lots. I find a lot of my interests stem from enjoying life with great people and I am often looking for new interests in my life.

Music, Movies, and Books

I could list many things in this category however at the moment my favourite film is probably The Blind Side, I enjoy all sorts of music, I like choral music as I spent a large amount of my youth in a choir. However I also love classical, and normal music such as Muse,and Katy Perry- so quite a range really. I love many books especially if they are unusual in their story, at the moment I am reading a more factual book about the six wives of Henry V111 however I like fiction a lot as well.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went to the Rainforest in Indonesia on a conservation project almost fours years ago. This was an awesome trip for me and one of the first times I had travelled outside of the UK. The most amazing part of this trip was doing a canopy climb into the trees at sunset.

Teach, Learn, Share

What am I good at doing? I am quite good at organising and learning, as well as helping others to learn. I find I have a lot of patience and can often sense how to explain in the best manner to someone so they can understand.
I always want to learn new things, at the moment I am trying to Learn German which is becoming more of a challenge everyday but I hope to succeed eventually. I hope in joing couch surfing I can share my personality with many people and build up some good and long lasting relationships
