About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I am currently in my final year of university, studying English and Philosophy, so my mission as stands is to nail that. Next year I hope to leave the island and go learn, work, or muck about somewhere else.

ABOUT ME

Entirely agreeable and only fractionally unreliable.

PHILOSOPHY

I try to treat everyone graciously and believe in the dignity of human life. I am a wavering vegetarian, which reflects my difficulty with both wanting to be good and accepting my selfishness. I enjoy life and the possibility of different experiences is exciting enough to reconcile me to the fact that I see no inherent meaning in the universe. I believe in the existence of other human beings, and would hope for the best possible life for everyone.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love way too many films, music and books to give a representative sample. I love European and independent cinema, from throughout the 20th century. I love many genres of music, from jazz to hardcore electronic ear abuse to synthpop and alt-folk. Try me. I like novels and poetry, some of my favourite novelists are David Foster Wallace, Martin Amis and Dave Eggers.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

These always sound cheesy and less awesome once written down, but oh well: sunrises are a big one for me, skies in general; chilling out on Philly rooftop and watching the sun come up over the city/talking to the passers by was great. Same sensation (minus the talking: too high up) in Bangkok. I danced to Hard Tek and drank Jagermeister while following Fuck Parade thru the streets of Berlin: that was a blast, hard to dance and walk at the same time.

Countries I’ve Visited

Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Lebanon, Malaysia, Morocco, Spain, Thailand, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

Ireland, United States
